Hardware Repairs, Replacements, and Upgrades

Sometimes one part of a computer can go bad when the rest is perfectly fine. In these cases, it can be well worth the money to just get that place fixed/replaced rather than buying a whole new computer. In these instances, I can give you a free price quote so you can make that decision.

Additionally, a computer can go from performing adequately to performing very well with a simple upgrade in one or more areas. A common upgrade I recommend is going from the standard hard drive to a much faster solid state drive, or SSD. This can make a dramatic difference in performance.

Virus Removal

Computer virus and malware issues can range from minor annoyances to major problems. If you suspect you have a problem with one, I can get it removed from your computer and give you some free tips on avoiding the issue in the future.

I also offer anti-virus software for sale, free installation and set-up included.

Data Transfer

There are many reasons to need to transfer data from one device to another. Sometimes it’s in an emergency situation where your hard drive is starting to fail, sometimes you just want your files copied from an old computer to a new one. In any case, I can get your files transferred for you at a reasonable rate.

Backup Services

Every person should have at the very least one backup of all their important documents, photos, etc. I can help get you set up to do scheduled backups on your computer, backups to external devices, and I offer online cloud backup services as well.

Computer Sales/Builds

If you’re in the market for a new computer, I can either order or build one that fits your needs, and budget, perfectly.

Also, if you’re building your own computer and run into some issues, I can help you get through those and finish the build.

Laptop Screen Repair

Laptop screens can be fragile sometimes. If you find yourself with a broken screen, it can typically be replaced for around $100-150. I can arrange with you ahead of time to have the replacement screen ordered and ready for install so you have minimal downtime.

Do I Need an Appointment?

Booking an appointment is the best method for ensuring quick service, but walk-ins are always welcome. My shop is located at 100 NE 2nd Street in Stuart and I’m open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9am to 5pm.

If you would like to book an appointment, you can click here for more information.

What All Do I Need to Bring In?

If you’re bringing in a desktop computer, all you would need to bring in in most cases would be the desktop tower. An exception would be if you’re having issues with a keyboard, display, etc.

If you’re bringing in a laptop, try to bring in the charger as well.

Will You Come to My Home/Office?

Definitely, I can. I prefer to schedule on-site work for Wednesdays and weekends. If you have an emergency that needs dealt with right away, I can typically get away to help.

With on-site work, there is a minimum charge of $50, regardless of how long the job takes. There may be an additional fee for longer distance jobs outside of the Stuart area.

Another option to consider is remote work. As long as your internet is working correctly, you can contact me for a remote support session. Basically, I’ll give you instructions on how to allow me to view and control your computer to get the issue fixed without physically needing to be there.

How Long is the Diagnosis Process?

In many cases I can give a general diagnosis and price quote within an hour or two of you bringing your computer in. In more complicated cases it can take longer, but I’ll let you know when that’s the case.

How Much Will My Repair Cost?

Computer repair fees can vary quite a bit depending on what is wrong. Lower on this page I have some sample price estimates for common repair services. If you ever have any doubt, you can always contact me for a free quote.

Do You Sell Computers/Software?

Yes. In addition to providing repair services, I also offer retail services. I try to keep most accessories and cables in stock, but may have to order specific parts/systems.

Can I Buy My Own Parts for Repair?

Yes, if you prefer to buy the materials yourself and just hire me for the labor, that’s fine by me. I do recommend you check ahead of time to make sure you’re getting the appropriate part for your needs.

Can You Recycle My Computer?

Yes, you can bring almost any of your old electronics in to recycle. Most of these you can recycle for no charge, including old laptops, desktops, keyboards, mice, flat screen monitors, cables, and more.

If you’re wanting to recycle larger items, like CRT monitors, there will be a fee associated, usually $15.

Prices

There are a lot of factors that go into pricing on many repair services, so some of the listed prices may be different in your case. Factors that can affect price are longer repair times on some computers and higher part costs for some models.

The listed prices are approximations based on repairs done and on current average parts costs and are subject to change. Contact me for an exact quote for your repair.
